On our last day of school for 2018, we spent it out in Glen Canyon. It happened to also be the Winter Solstice, the shortest day for daylight. We drew observations of how the area looks and then played "Big Tree Hide-and-go-seek" before we had to head back to school.
As part of our story writing, we wrote, edited, illustrated and published books to give to our little buddies. After we read them our stories, we then did a S.T.E.A.M. activity in groups of 4.
This December we have been able to skate twice! The children are such fast learners, it is amazing to see the growth over the two sessions.
The intermediate teachers hosted a pancake and movie morning for ALL the intermediate classes! Over 400 hundred pancakes were made!
Later that afternoon, we did some STEAM activities in the library and students were able to do challenges at 2 stations. They really enjoyed the stations and are looking forward to coming back to do the next ones. We have spent the last couple of days doing things to celebrate Mrs. Segec. On Thursday we had a surprise pancake breakfast. On Friday we did an igloo S.T.E.A.M. challenge with marshmallows and had a gift for her, played a Kahoot game all about Mrs. Segec and had cake.
